A fantastic place to stay in Buxton. A warm and friendly welcome throughout our stay. The pub had great beers and accommodation was modern and spotless. There was no noise from the pub in the apartment block and had a great nights sleep. Really central and would recommend to anyone visiting Buxton.

Paid £260.04 for 3 adults for 2 nights stay in Oct 2025 in The Queen’s Head Hotel after 10% discount from credit card. Booked through Agoda. 1. Stayed on the ground floor of the hotel. The room was at the back of a pub and it was not noisy in the room. 2. The room was sufficiently clean and it was quite spacious for 3 adults. There was enough space to open our luggage on the floor. The bed was comfortable. 3. Although there was no aircon, there a portable fan in the room. 4. The attached toilet and bathroom were clean. The water pressure was strong and drainage was good. But the wash basin was too small and water always splashed on to the floor while washing our hands or face. 5. The hotel provided face and bath towels. 6. The wifi was stable. 7. The reception was in the pub. Service staff at the reception was friendly. The boss helped me to pay £10.60 for 3 days parking in the nearby public car park (3 minute walk) as I was unable to download the app. Then, I reimbursed him using cash. 8. The full English breakfast and hot drink was included in the hotel charges and was good. They also served free flow orange juice at the side. 9. There was a Sainsbury’s supermarket next to the public car park.

We came to Buxton to see our son in a play at the Fringe this weekend. We had a great stay at The Queens Head. The pub is so well kept, clean and tidy with great beer. Our room was spotlessly clean and comfy, with a huge bed. The staff were friendly and welcoming too. If we come to Buxton again we will definitely stay at the Queens Head.

Great little room. Comfortable bed. Sky TV with all the channels. Nice bathroom. Hot bath was a real bonus after getting caught in the rain on the Peaks. Friendly staff. Would definitely go back. Was woken at 5am on the Friday by the sound of the used glass bottles all being emptied into the waste lorry, but it didn’t spoil the stay. Nice place.

Amazing hotel. The staff are extremely cooperative from the manager to the security staff and bar tenders at the pub. Very comfortable rooms. We stayed here on a weekend night while visiting Peak District. The hotel pub was full of university students on the weekend but our rooms were peaceful and quiet. Buxton is a nice little town. Will stay again.

The rooms around the back are cosy-sized but very comfortable. I stayed on a drizzly Wednesday night so there was no one sat outside the back of the pub and it was very quiet - can't say how quiet it would be on a Saturday night. The staff are wonderfully friendly and helpful. They had my cooked breakfast ready when I came down in the morning as they knew I needed to leave early, and they locked my bike in a secure room and had it out ready in the morning without me having to ask. Just be aware that if you come by train, it's at the top of the hill!

Clean spacious rooms directly behind a pub, but no noise as the courtyard is blocked off at night. Super friendly staff and nice cooked breakfast.

A fairly traditional / non pretentious small town pub, full of locals with a good lively atmosphere and live bands late into the early hours.
